03 · migrate

Magento → Shopify Plus.

Data, URLs, SEO, and every integration re-platformed. Done by a senior architect who has shipped Magento builds since 2016 — not a junior team reading the docs for the first time.

// phases

Six phases, one cutover.

  1. 01 · Audit & plan

    Full inventory of M2 extensions, custom modules, integrations, URL map, SEO value, and the scary parts nobody documented. Two-week fixed-fee audit.

  2. 02 · Rebuild on Shopify Plus

    Theme, checkout extensions, Shopify Functions, custom apps where Shopify's primitives stop. No re-inventing — buy apps where apps are good enough.

  3. 03 · Data migration

    Customers, orders, products, historical GMV, reviews, loyalty points. Validated row-by-row with reconciliation scripts before cutover.

  4. 04 · SEO preservation

    1:1 URL redirect map, canonical strategy, schema carried over, sitemap regenerated. The goal is zero organic loss 90 days post-launch.

  5. 05 · Integration re-platform

    NetSuite, ERP, PIM, 3PL, tax, Klaviyo, subscriptions — every integration rebuilt on Shopify Plus primitives or Celigo flows.

  6. 06 · Cutover + stabilization

    Low-traffic weekend cutover with a rehearsed rollback. Two weeks of on-call with me in the engineering chat before hand-off.

// risk reducers

What keeps this from blowing up.

  • Fixed-fee audit before any commitment.
  • Dry-run data migration on staging, full reconciliation report.
  • Rehearsed rollback plan before cutover.
  • 90-day organic traffic guarantee — we match or better pre-launch.

// faq

Migration questions, direct answers.

How much does a Magento to Shopify Plus migration cost?
Scoped builds start at $30K for a lean M2 store and run into six figures for complex B2B / multi-brand / heavily-customized M2. Expect most mid-market moves to land between $45K and $120K all-in.
How long does a Magento to Shopify Plus migration take?
Typically 10 to 16 weeks from kickoff to launch. Faster is possible for simple stores; most real-world M2 builds need the middle range because the data, SEO, and integration work is the slow part.
Will we lose SEO traffic after moving from Magento?
Not if the migration is architected right. I build a 1:1 redirect map, carry canonical and schema signals, and run GSC side-by-side for 90 days post-launch. Expect neutral-to-positive organic within a quarter.
Do we have to rebuild every integration from scratch?
No. The goal is to keep the systems your business runs on — NetSuite, 3PL, Klaviyo, PIM — and rebuild only the connection layer. Some integrations collapse into Shopify native features and go away entirely.
Is Adobe Commerce support really ending?
Magento Open Source enters reduced support in 2026, with security patches only. Adobe Commerce is supported but at rapidly rising TCO. Most mid-market merchants are re-platforming rather than paying the upgrade tax.
